New design removes flaws of the pt. Larger screen allows more info to be displayed on the display. Each item has its own reminder beep and when it sounds i find myself thinking was that for my laundry?
The new timer has a magnet that allows you to hang it on your refrigerator. Because the * are almost sealed, no crud gets in the timer, just wipe it off! This new version is nice because it has a flat surface - no food gunk gets stuck around the *.
Cons
To press the minutes in exactly the right way to get them to increase is very very difficult. Evidently, it wasn't properly glued to the item.

I dont have the need for up counter though and can be confusing when the timer swaps to up counter after timing down to zero and alarm rings

It works similarly to the old one but its bigger and the top slider is annoying because its not labeled like the old one

And i love that the beep lasts for exactly 1 minute when the timer goes off

The only reason i needed to replace the older one was that the parts of the battery cover that kept the cover in place broke off and without the cover being firmly in place the device did not work
