Pros & Cons
Pros
Not real deep but makes plot believable. The heroines are quirky enough to be real. Once again regina welling does an amazing job giving is a story we can escape into!
Ev and chloe are wonderful, and do a great job figuring out the mystery of who the * is.
Paced well, descriptions done with just right amount of detail. It’s an enjoyable book. A great cozy book.
Ponderosa pines used to be a commune. Chole's best friend ev has a lot of pull in this little town. Big decision on the table is whether to allow the town to be annexed by the bigger town next door.
Cons
I found this too self indulgent, too 60s meets donald trump. The cat and the rat are definitely figurative. The worst part is that a man is doing repairs (in the church) using a 20 year old ladder that everyone knows is rickety.

By regina welling is a bit slow going for my taste plus the title is deceiving but having said that it does keep your interest and all the mystery strands come together at the end
