The only minor issues is that a portion of the wood does have slight damage but the place that is damaged is on the under side of the hing on the arm rests

I bought 2 and they each came in a separate manufacturer box no amazon box no air pillows or other protection from typical yet unavoidable shipper thrashing

Once both sides are in and slide easily go ahead and slide both sides back simultaneously until both rods are covered in the groove nothing hanging out from the ends

Before you move to step 8 pick up the bits of trash put it into recycle or int the cardboard box and put that out to the trash bin
