Pros

This in-wall adapter is really inexpensive and works perfectly in my 3-way switch install. Used in downstairs/upstairs setup replacing a 3 way light setup. Allows you to add a battery operated pico switch anywhere.

The build quality is impressive, ensuring durability and longevity. Overall, it looks fine though, and i'm happy - just being nitpicky.

All three (four) parts are assembled at the factory. Way cheaper, easier and less destructive than trying to fish new wiring. Costs a little more but with that you get a superior product.

Cons

This squarish piece of plastic has what looks like two cut-out holes in them. The bracket is poorly designed for old work installations. It protrudes too far from the mounting surface (drywall) for even an over-sized wall plate to properly align.

Lutron seems to put licensing restrictions on it's use. It really bothers me when i have to go about returning products that are broken. The price of these needs to drop considerably.

Recommended whether you are challenged by space or dont want cost and inconvenience of extra wiring

It’s a bit expensive for what it is

This could probably come with the remote as an option for about a buck or be built into a version of the remote for even less

Not sure about install since hubby did them but he seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly

In my case the box had 2 lutron radio ra 2 dimmers plus a pico remote for shade control

Competitiveness

It is a bit pricier than other brands but it is the best with excellent customer support
