This is what you’ll want to hold your heavy items in place when placing them in a solid or secure case. Place softer foam below, and egg crate foam above to hug your firearms in place.
Product is as advertised. Pieces are dimensionally correct to advertised size. Would purchase again. Replacement foam is of high quality.
For rifle case customize by removing only 3 of the 4 layers. Trace your pattern on the back side. A screwdriver helps get under the third layer - take your time. Was exactly like the original pelican foam.
Cons
Would need exceptional trimming and cutting to work. For that purpose, this product is junk. Also the corners are not anywhere near 90 degrees so you actually lose a bit of usable foam if you need a proper right angle.
