The carson vp 8x42 provides a nice field of view and excellent clarity. The focus knob works smoothly. They even have click-stop diopter controls.

Carson binocs have a build quality that at least matches and perhaps even surpasses other units that cost hundreds more. The price for the quality is unbeatable. Similar to higher priced products.

Wide and padded neck strap makes it quite comfortable. The twist out eye cups are great. They are quite easy to focus, and aligning the eyes is quick and accurate.

Cons

Qc department is chock full of myopic peasants being paid minimum wage or i'm king of ireland. The carrying case and all the straps are cheaply made.

Overall the tradeoff comes down to weight vs fov with the carson being less expensive

Much better than a similarly priced bushnell model i have

These are just as good as my nikon monarch5 10x42 but cost over 100 less

I had tried eyeskey 10x42 professional waterproof binoculars but had trouble with their field of view and the focusing knob

They were the lower end pricewise of 3 pair of binoculars i researched
