If youre buying it it help you read be aware that the lens is very flexible and it wont magnify consistently unless fairly straight but to be fair even a rigid lens would have to be parallel to the page in order to keep consistent magnification and thats hard to do if the page isnt flat and most arent

Probably easier to get glasses if youre having trouble reading id imagine

The only problem ive encountered with this is that the words at the inside of the pages become distorted and i have to move the book or magnifier to stop it

I bought this to see how it would work reading sheet music

Because of the angle to read sheet music and having to hold the magnifier4 inches from the music itself to get the full 2x magnificationdid not realizeit had to be held that far from the music there were too many reflections downon the music making it worse

So it is not a bad device to blow up the reading at least 2x normal size
