Pros & Cons

Pros

The microscope works great. It's great for looking at bugs, leaves, snowflakes(! The slit designed to take a specimen slide is a perfect fit for a film slide. Preferable to doing an onion skin rubbing with graphite. The magnifier is large and has 4.

Kids love this set. High school helpers were impressed. Highly recommend for home or school. K-8 outdoor summer program.

Cons

The switch on both flashlights is bad (you have to fiddle with it to get the light to come on) the binoculars are more like 0 power; they do nothing. The compass doesn't work the light is very low.

As soon as i zoomed it in to get the view i wanted it would not focus. You have to put your eye almost in contact with the eyepiece to see the object field. The focus keeps getting blurry, and you need to constantly readjust.

These are not binoculars - they are opera glasses. Spend the extra $10 or $20 and get a decent pair of 8x32 roof or porro prism binoculars.

The quality of the binoculars and the compass was above my expectations

The image quality is fine except at the edges but i use this to look at textured objects so depth of field is important
