Pros

Easy to learn and to use. Takes a little bit to master but eventually easy to scan for what you're looking for. Durable - has withstood a lot of drops. It is incredibly portable and handy.

Cons

These are not binoculars - they are opera glasses. The compass comes with no instruction valuable to * age kids. The optics design, which does not use prisms (either roof or porro) to correct the image orientation, is 400 years old. Spend the extra $1...  Read More

As soon as i zoomed it in to get the view i wanted it would not focus. It yields an upside-down image, which makes freehand use even more awkward. Magnifies 2-3x, not 5x.

Cheaply made - barely operable. Not recommended. Still, stay away from this model as it is poorly designed.

Working flashlight you supply batteries compass and optics they couldnt get through the packaging fast enough to make a new adventure well as much adventure a 9 year old can muster

Take note that these are toys and at the price point i expected these to last shorter than it will take you to read this review and to my surprise i was wrong as this is a 3 month late review this was a holiday gift

Slide is ironic because i deal with photographic slides

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Often i am dealing with slides that are over 30 years old and the identifying marks roll and frame have faded

I was concerned my african violets might have mites but didnt want to spend a lot of money confirming it so i could spend the money on replacing the plants instead

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I do wish i had gotten a model with higher magnification because then maybe i could have identified whether they were broad mites or cyclamen mites

Note that you cant view leaves still on a plant using this microscope

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If you want to view plant leaves you will need to take a very small sample and place it onto the included slide and then insert the slide in the base at the bottom of the scope
