Latch is tricky until you get the hang of it. It now opens and closes smoothly and is much safer!

The gate is thick and well constructed. One thing to point out is that it mounts at just about mop board height. Easy to install and very sturdy for the top of our stairs.

My tips for anyone installing this:- mount the hinge side first using two screws. They give you screws that are long enough to mount to a stud through drywall.

Oh my gosh - this gate is awesome! Love it. This gate is the bomb.

Cons

Appearance is ok but the latch has issues. The bottom hinge is loose even though my husband replaced the short one that came with it with a longer screw to try and secure it. Screws may rust like a gremlin.
