You can mount protectors designed to go on a back to the front of the door if opening angle is up to 90 degrees

The width of the door meant that the kids could have their fingers round the hinge side when closing the door which quicky became apparent was an accident waiting to happen

After one month the adhesive is weakening causing the guard to come away from the door so nailing in place is advised
