The magnets are strong and will hold your phone up but i must warn you the level of attraction between the magnets if you decide to put the magnet between your case and your phone will vary based on the case that you have on
If you have a bulky case like the unicorn beetle putting a magnet between the phone and the case will not hold as well
Thus i had to switch a case where i put the magnet piece in the card holder slot and that has provided great support now just imagine if you had the magnets touch meaning sticking the magnet piece to the back of your phonephone case
There is a small metal plate that sticks either to your phone or in my case i stuck it to the case of the phone in between the phone and the case
