I was also bothered by the fact that the arm that holds the phone places the phone almost level with my chin

However if your cup holder is near your armrest i would not recommend even with the small vent adapter that comes with it

The base expands to fit most cup holders although will not work in the pop out cup holders which only have a bottom and a ring that holds the drink

It comes with no instructions other than a few pictures on the side of the box and what you see in the product listing

The adjustable arm allowed me to angle the phone where i could most easily see it however i felt that the phone was low and i had to look down and away from the road while driving
