Pros

My absolute favorite lens for versatility and quality. It's really big, and i love the large diameter of the glass. I do sometimes wish it were wider.

This lens is pretty sharp, across the full zoom and aperture range. It gives you great reach with its telephoto capabilities. The 28-175 is maybe not quite as sharp, and a little more chromatic abberations.

Is a nice focal range for general purpose photography. This is what usually i put on my canon mark d3 camera and is doing it's job! Love the range on my 7d.

Cons

The images are very blurry and always need sharpening in photoshop. Complex distortion is not fully correctable in photoshop.

Mechanically this lens works decently, if you discount the zoom drift when the lens is pointed down. Another major drawback is it's lens creep, the lens extends to full zoom whenever it faces down.

When you take it off the camera and put it in a bag, for example, it slams its way to the telephoto end of its range every time. Doesn't shoot true to the view finder on my canon 30d.

The quality of the pictures are great i have no complaints about this lens

My customers dont seem to complain about the quality of images coming from this lens even though i tend to nitpick them

In between those extremes the quality of the picture is excellent

Great lands for the price i love it

Great lens at a really good price

For its price is doing a very good job

I am sure there are now lenses that perform better but the price of this lens has also come down 150200 since i got mine

Arrived quickly and was in damage free packaging

I use it with a 60d and i get very good images

Or an ultrawide lens i pretty much keep this lens attached all the time now
