Pros
Bought it for my 2 grandsons ages 2 and 4. Reminders of my own mortality make me furious! Would recommend this for children.
Game play is simple, you choose cards and go the matching color. The best part is the specialty cards. You can be all the way at the end and get a specialty card like the cupcake that sends you back.
Cons
The retro version is more expensive than the new version. The snowflake princess looks like a beauty pagant contestant. Please for the love of god destroy this version and give us back our 1980s candyland.
The new layout of this game is terrible for young children. The board is also incredibly overstimulating for kids because it is so colorful.
Not everything needs to grab our attention or overload our sensory input to be interesting. Sometimes there's 1 and a half colored squares on a card, or sometimes there were just slivers of color. My 4 year old nephew did not want to play until i cove... Read More

Don’t waste your money on the smaller version of this game that folds into quarters then into a square box

The first time my granddaughter opened the board it broke and the cards are small and flimsy

This fullsize board that folds in half only has bigger cards and more spots on the board

No one knew so we asked alexa and apparently it used to be called the swamp of molasses but then and this is hilarious alexa continued to provide history of the game including that a character named plumpy was cancelled in 2002
