Pros & Cons
Pros
The cambro is a great container for sous vide cooking. It has a cover so evaporation is no longer a concern on long cooks.
The right size for rising “rectangular” breads like ciabatta. This one (6qt) is pretty large, but works well for a batch of dough that makes 2 loaves of sourdough. Using it for 1-kg tartine country bread recipe.
Cons
Cambro is clearly a brand that's going down the drain. A container without a lid is completely useless. Didn't come with a lid.
Highlights
Quality
Lightweight sturdy easy to clean absolutely no issues
The things are crystal clear and sturdy
And pieces of dough get stuck in the 90degree corners unlike smooth sloped bowls and make it harder to clean
So the first time i tried it i had a stainless steel pot that was alllmost too short and it didnt turn out very well
Price
I am very happy with these and i am very pleased with the price on these
I also opted not to get the pricey covered containers for sous vide
Also bought it when prices were reasonable
Shipping
For christmas this past year i received an anova sous vide machine
Had a small issue but customer service was quick and amazing to resolve it
Packaging/appearance
The pictures show the box with a lid but the description says it does not come with a lid
I checked and costcos kirkland plastic wrap is bpa free and i just lined the inside of the container with it
Would have been more useful if the container came with a lid
I loved this container but wished if it came with a cover
Competitiveness
They also have options for you to get bigger sizes and more containers they also have others that are the same brand that come with lids
I have a small kitchen and do not need another large thing in it so i decided on the smaller and cheaper option here
