Pros & Cons

Pros

The lt1 is significantly brighter, and i also like the tint shift capabilities. It is very powerful and bright and i can change the color tint to my preference. The brightness can be ramped as well.

Tighten the barrel and unplug it and still have full batteries. I like that the batteries are removable.

The craftsmanship and engineering that went into the lt1 are top notch. Fantastic orange color and built very well. Arrived next day by the seller.

The basic controls are very easy to use even for a novice with this kind of stuff. The ui is expansive (a bit overwhelming for me at first), but very learnable.

Cons

The battery life is terrible & it’s confusing to use. The max i’ve charged it for is 2 days. If you want expensive quality get either a 1000 lumen toughlight or a fenix cl30r.

Everything from the materials anodizing and components emphasizes the effort and attention to detail that sofirn put into the lt1

Competitiveness

I own a number of sofirn lights and all of them are very high quality this lantern is no different

Increase brightness and even switch to 5000k turbo for a utility light

In my tests i get just over 8 hours on high with three 18650 cells 3400mah

This light runs off of 4 18650 batteries which give it a lot of power and i imagine good run times too

It’s just unparralled in the market

The blf lt1 from sofirn however is the doitall workhorse that has the most functionality of them all

Many highend led lanterns on the market come with led’s that are very bright but a bit too much on the bright or cool white side for me

The output is well regulated which means it won’t dim as the batteries discharge and you can find runtime graphs on the internet that show completely flat discharge on high

As far as cons go we’ll the lantern is a bit too heavy for backpacking imho and the weighttolight ratio is probably better on the fenix cl9 or other small lantern

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It’s not heavy by any means but if your goal is to go light there are better options

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Yes the lantern is not inexpensive but this is a case of getting what you pay for
