Pros & Cons
Pros
The one real downside to the pedal is the boost, which is not a boost as we typically know it. This pedal is best used as a pre-amp. But then you kick on the boost and you're brain begins to melt and so does anyone's face that is in proximity!
My champ 20 has 4 tweed, blackface, british and metal. Tweed at the first setting was my favorite, really rockn' and clean tones. Gives a nice mesa-esque distortion to my ears. Like mesa boogie tones + hm2 vibes.
The tantrum has a pretty scooped sound if you want it that way. Sliding your fingers up and down the fretboard alone gives you this eerie sludge metal hum. Metal case, the switches seem solid and noiseless as well. I would certainly gig with it if i n... Read More
An affordable, well built ehx metal * clone. One and only problem is that it lacks sustain somewhat. Im thinking of buying a second one as a backup.
Great value. Couldn't be happier. The tantrum is awesome. Lastly, metal. I've been blown away.
Cons
Turning up the treble on the pedal does not fix this, it just adds treble to the low-passed signal. The hum is just too noticeable when the pedal is engaged. It creates very loud humming/ buzzing white noise just from being on. This would be a good di... Read More

Quality
I bought this pedal on a whim after being unsatisfied with the builtin gain on my new amp
I was pretty surprised by the tone this puts out for the price
Nothing wrong with the proco version but its so similar it just isnt worth triple the price
I fiddled around with the settings but i just could not pull out any tones i liked
Price
Sounds great not mention it its price is a steal
The price was right and caline makes a great quality pedal
And the price is very cheap for this pedal
For the get 2 before the price goes up
Competitiveness
This is an awsome budget distortion pedal
A longtime metalhead from the 80s

So i am a bit picky when it comes to my distortions

So that said i was so worried this was a gimmick just a clone of a metal zone worst distortion ever tied with hm3 put in an enclosure to look like the “wampler triple wreck”

That’s something the triple wreck while being the most expensive of the mesa tones in a box severely lacks the eq changes very little
