Low color temperature (just like incandescent) is great. They are just the right level of brightness (not overly so) they have a warm tone but a clear bulb.

The filament was clearly broken. Likely a fluke. They glare just as intensely as those insomnia-inducing bright white led lights. When put into a night light fixture, they produce almost no light whatsoever.
