The magazine does work but you must be really careful to not use damaged darts close the bolt slowly and the reopen the bolt and remove the magazine for inspection if anything doesnt feel right about the last shot
The way i use it is as a single shot opening the bolt flipping the gun over and manually loading a round into the bolt the shutting the bolt and flipping it back over to shoot
