I found the two stage function switch the only operating switch but there is a separate switch for the display window a little tricky to get acquainted with because the instructions are somewhat misleading

There is standby mode read off but alive and lockout mode close to really off

For totally off you must unscrew the battery holding handle a quarter turn or so for long term storage
