The g sensor definitely works there were a few times when i had the camera off mount laying in my console and would bump it with something and it would turn on and start recording

As you can see in the screen shots there is a date and time stamp on the video and this is also the characteristic of the camera that caused me to deduct a star

The internal battery in this camera if there even is one judging by its charge duration it may just be a capacitor is very short lived
