Our criticism is minor we opted to bolt the units through our decks rather than use the screws provided and we found that the screw holes in the brass mounting plate underneath the black face plate on the unit have some stamping around them part of it through the plate by design that makes it at least difficult i found it impossible to drill out those holes any larger without tearing the mounting plate right around them

I believe this hasnt compromised the integrity or watertightness of the installation but it would have been easier if thered been no special treatment around the screw holes

It took several emails and a couple of phone calls to ascertain why i could not successfully print a return label for the gift compass i had just received and was still unopened

Simply put amazon believes that the 70p compass contains hazardous materials and therefore it cannot be returned to them via ups

It is highly ironic that i happen to be an environmentaldot compliance specialist and i tried to carefully explain to amazon that said compass does not contain any hazardous materialssubstances

Further more if the compass did then dot regulations would require that the exterior packaging containing the compass would have to contain all applicable dot hazardous materials warning labels
