Pros
Brunton lensatic military style sighting compass. The needle performs much like their other compasses. I love that with this compass the whole dial floats so your mils/degrees move with the needle.
Military and the durability of their compasses is worth the additional cost. And don't overpay. Alot for just $8.
Cons
Put the blame squarely on brunton rather than the fact it's manufactured in china. But if it's like mine was, it's not even suitable for a child. Brunton's specs and poor design.
Magnetic card is liquid damped, but it moves very slowly. Too much viscosity in the dampening fluid for the disk and the weak magnet to overcome. Disk moves reluctantly and does not respond to minor movements.
The phosphorescence on the cardinal points is dim even when fully charged. The sighting lens is cheap plastic and makes the bearing completely unreadable.

The only difference i can tell between this compass and the more expensive commenga lensatic compass models is that there is no selfillumination on this model for night use and when the lense frame is closed it doesnt lock down to immobilize the compass card

Realisticly if i was going to take night readings i would have on my red headlamp anyway to read my map and read the compass

The compass doesnt have a lanyard or a belt case so ill have to add them myself if i find they are needed
