When i was a young teenager however i bought a second hand steel string guitar which had such a poor action the strings were very difficult to press down that it was really unplayable

Sadly this particular uke had a rattle caused by too deep a recess in the top nut for one of the strings and the intonation was out

I bought a tuner and had to tune it every time i played in the beginning but after a few days the strings settled in
