Pros & Cons
Pros
The squirrel buster does everything it says and more. Such fun to watch the squirrels being baffled by this feeder. I love it and so does the birds.
The finch, nuthatches and chickadees love it. It has a plastic perching ring which should be warmer at minus 30c. So far has kept out the squirrels and raccoons.
Although a rather costly feeder, the construction is solid. It's easy to fill and is adjustable to allow bigger birds. The adjustable tension is also great as it allows adjustment for the size of bird you want.
Saves having to refill the bird feeder every day. There is minimal feed splatter. They do need semi-annual cleaning.
Cons
Turned wing nut to put more tention on spring to make it les sensitive the plastic threaded rod broke inside of feeder rendering is useless. Also holes for bird to get food are too deep, i am afraid it is posing greater risk for birds infections.
