So i had to work in the small void space at the bottom

The ductwork i had was perfectly sized for the included damper but due to the low profile of the damper it could not reach the range hood from the bottom of the ductwork

I had about a 4 inch gap from the bottom of the damper to the range hood due to the cabinet having an overhang caused by the previous range hood having more height at the damper connection to connect to the duct

Basically the old cabinets and duct were installed with that rangehood in mind not future ones
