You have to be careful filling it as if it goes over the inner container unfiltered water will run into the lower basin contaminating all your water

The limiting factor is the upper section so in terms of design they should have made that larger as i almost never fill the bottom completely

I had one for three years and it eventually cracked after two years and slowly dripped water expanding until the leak was too pronounced by the third year for practical use

Also i actually had to call in and confirm about the lights so ill hopefully save you the trouble if youre unsureyou must hold down and reset the button every time you replace the filter

The lights will not stay on at all times and will only flash briefly after refilling the pitcher

Like the pitcher very much but a little disappointed as the gage to tell me the condition of the filter is already not working
