If you want to mount them under the eaves which is not that abnormal a location the motion sensor cannot be aligned properly

We had to remove the motion sensor from the light set and attach it to the junction box in order to properly align it for detection

Once we finished the installation and started testing it appears that the range of the motion detector is about 10 or 15 feet maximum

Update i have now tested these lights at night and the range is much farther than it seemed when testing in the daylight in test mode
