Great advice for overcoming what we americans have started to accept has normal terrible behavior. She makes a good argument that american children are often left coddled in a way that leaves their parent and other caregivers exhausted, while not cult...  Read More

Cons

If you live in paris, speak french and still find yourself helplessly american, then it seems like all you’ll get out of this book is a steaming pile of guilt. She says that healthcare and childcare are free in france but fails to mention that the tax...  Read More

There were also some very outdated but apparently still aliveandwell attitudes toward childbirth and men’s role in the early phases of parenting

I haven’t asked my husband if it ruined the mystique for him to watch or if he ever thought i had mystique to begin with but that part about french culture never thinking of mothers as just mothers was fascinating to read

Women are always women and sexual beings in the eyes of the french i suppose

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It doesnt give off the usual scientific feel and it does stereotype the french to be some sort of super parents but it does get the message across
