There are 8 different modes the only thing that might get annoying over time is that in order to get the mode you want you have to press the remote button the amount of times with the number it corresponds to

If you want them to hang loosely and close together as in the picture they show you will have to get two otherwise the wire will be tighter spaced farther apart
