Id been eyeing an automatic tea maker for some time lured in both by the idea of throwing everything in the machine and having it take care of making my tea for me rather than my having to babysit my press and hurry up and pour the tea once my timer went off and by the promise of having an array of temperature settings

Unlike other units ive seen this one doesnt dunk the tea basket into the water

The machine will repeatedly cycle the water through the pump as it counts down and once the cycle has ended the pump stops and you wait for the water to finish dripping through the basket

With the rooibus and the herbals i tried the full eightminute cycle sufficed but the fact that you cant cycle for more than eight minutes without having to press more buttons which also means you need to be near the machine when its done with the eightminute cycle is an inconvenience

The icons on the buttons were a little confusing at first but i quickly got use to it

I gave it 4 stars however because the carafe isnt dishwasher safe
