The purpose is to give a sturdier shape to garments that otherwise would leave you looking shapeless or flat. Gave these to my seamstress to sew into my wedding dress.

As a seamstress of ballroom costumes for 15 years, these are the best sew-in cups for the money. I do bridal alterations and these are my favorite cups to use! These are perfect!

Cons

Bought by mistake. It is laughable that these are supposed to fit a dd. They are much, much smaller than any of my dd bras. May still send bac.
