A trick that worked for mei examined the top to be sure it was the same as i was replacing that one split from age at 6 years it was with just two lines of threading visible inside

But when i first screwed this onto the faucet it leaked from the connection

I took it off and tried the black rubber gasket a ring only about 18ths inch wide but that left too few threads visible it looked like it would never screw on securely

My last one was last for over 4 years then time to change for the new one because it too old the rubber looks dirty and starting to leak
