It's a metal bracket that attaches via screw posts to the rear of the unit. My unit is in a covered cabin with an open back and mounted in on the side of the console.

All in all, looks, feels and performs like a quality system. My expectations were exceeded. Fit perfectly as described. Well worth the money.

The only way i'd use this unit is if it is mounted in a vertical position on your console where you know it won't get wet. The unit was doa, however now i have a 3 hole in the dash and can't get a replacement just a refund. Not for boats, definitely. ... Read More
