Pros

The only down side about this saw is that it works so well that my dad keeps borrowing it. He has his own craftsman that no longer gets any use. It's smooth, quiet, and well worth the money. Dust collection collects about 50% that is generated.

The detent override is awesome. It is a great buy and works just as well as my neighbor's higher priced dewalt saw. Well made - like better than dewalt or makita.

The table actually flexes when tightening the knob. This is after ensuring that opposing pieces of the frame are the exact same length.

Although you can purchase a less expensive chop saw i think the quality of this saw merits the price

They told me to spend a little bit more and get a quality product

Miter and compound cuts have been accurate right out of the box

The saw was square right out of the boxwith no adustments neededcomes with great manualinstructionsonboard blade and allen wrench

Competitiveness

As a cabinet and furniture maker the extra cutting capacity and the tall fence seemed to outshine all of the competition

I have my doubts because this saw makes me a believer that bosch quality exceeds a majority of its competitors

And just like everyone else says invest in a tefloncoated or other highquality blade for fine finish work
