Pros

This device holds most books open hands-free. It works fine on hardcovers and heavy books. I have some big, thick textbooks and this does a great job holding the pages open.

Rubber backing keeps it from slipping around. Clear, looks like magnets on each end. Stylish leather it looks well in any library or den environment.

This is much more enjoyable to use and rinses clean easily. This one is cheaper! But this one is a five.

Got this as a gift & it works great. I use it to eat with food on my lap, and instead of a clicker,to do it lol, this works perfectly.

Cons

This product is useless. The surface material attracts every speck of dust and lint like a magnet. Go with the leather one from leatherology.

I have been using a weighted pageholder for 40 years it was solid leather and did an outstanding job still does

Both ends are weighted down and the length is good if you set it on the spine to hold the book completely open

I bought this tool knowing that reviews said it wouldnt work on heavier stiffer books

Price

The ability to leave your book sitting on your lap open to the page you are trying to read while driving is priceless

Competitiveness

I tried another brands leather book weightplace holder and it was too light too slippery

While i was hesitant to purchase the silicone ones considered this brands leather one im happy to have purchased the silicone one

I find its better for hardcover books it hold the pages down easier than paperback or massmarket paperback books
