Pros
This transparent weight holder is solider. There is the potential for glare to be an issue if there are light fixtures directly overhead, but this wasn't a problem for me.
The book page acrylic weight is a useful item to keep a cookbook open while preparing a recipe. This works well for keeping the ingredients off the recipe page of a cook book. Any book worm will love this.
It not only holds the page open, it protects the book. Perfect for people who like to sit at their table and eat while they read or even snack.

I then have to look around for something heavy to put on the closing side of the page which inevitably has to be moved when i have to read what is under the weight

The thicker the book the more problematic this will be to use especially if the book is tightly bound

I have book weights and book stands do a better job with thicker books
