Pros

Mary roach is insatiably curious, asking questions and making observations with an enthusiasm that is a joy to read.

This book is hilarious and full of very interesting realities of the field of sexology. It’s a book about * that is neither staid nor lewd. Even her chapter titles are giggle-inducing - with titles like the princess and her pea - the woman who moved h...  Read More

Cons

Random topics quickly become disruptive and then irritating. Author makes a seemingly interesting topic dull.

Mary roach's stiff is a book about * and primate research. It's difficult to get funding for research because the research boards think you are a pervert. Roach never settles in with a clear perspective on her subject.

I havent finished it yet but i would never give this to my husband to read first of all he couldnt read this and secondly if he did he would probably be scarred for life

So far it reads more like a history of how ignorant humanity has been about sex and all of the completely moronic sexual things that humanity has done and some of them are really quite horrific like how some african slaves were given repeated vaginal surgeries in the early days of gynocology

I will probably finish it but it ifeels like it was written more for the novelty which admittedly is a solid genre
