I was able to get the laptop to recognize and connect to the bluetooth shield but next i must be able to write a program to send and receive data to and from the arduino

I got this shield up and running on a arduino mega 2560 in about 10 minutes after connecting it to the proper serial rxtx as instructed

This is not a shortcoming of the shield but just be aware that apple ios ipad ipod iphone will not pair with this shield because of apples restrictions
