I had a problem when i first tried to use this

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

They told me to prime it by putting the pump in a bucket of water and then letting it run for a few seconds

When moving the pump it can come apart and then you have to reseat the motor and try to get it back into position

Its tiny and i thought well that wont do well

The nice thing is you can turn it on for say 20 minutes or so and then turn it off and it will continue to drain the water as it creates a siphon and continues to pump without power

It does seem cheaply made but ive used it enough already to validate the price for me even if it breaks soon
