The straps are loose and do not put pressure on my high arches like most strappy sandals do

My recommendation based on my limited experience is that if you are typically a halfsize or have wider feet and trying to decide whether to size up or down you can probably choose the smaller size if you are buying the original granolas with the plain strap but you should size up if you are getting the newer design with the braided detail
