This is heavy so it wont come flying off the recessed area when you pick up the soap and it is deep enough that if you empty it out every few days or so water wont collect in it to the point of turning your soap into a slimy mess

I guess that is what you get for a product that proudly proclaims germany all over but was actually manufactured in china
