I was happy to see that when i unwrapped the packaging there wasnt a scratch on either nightstand

Its definitely a dark finish darker than the somewhat common espresso color but not jet black

One issue is the drawers are a bit small

While the entire width of the nightstand is 18 the inside width of each drawer is really only about 12

Also there is no stopper installed so the drawers will fall out if you pull them out too far
