Pros & Cons
Pros
The small basket on the poles in perfect in the sandy and leaf covered trails in north fla. There seem to be some reviewers who never figured out how to lock the poles together. This pole is light enough for most day hiking.
Sturdy without much noise or vibration. No rattles. Good grips. They are lightweight and very sturdy!
Grips redistribute some of the stress from your back/legs.
Cons
Durability seems to be the problem as now they are rendered useless. Weight difference is so minimal (brother has the carbon fiber) and these are also supposedly more durable.
The top piece on both poles is jammed up and will not extend to full length. Gel insert between aluminum shafts got permanently stuck inside and thus renders the pole completely unable to lock out. Only received 1 pole.

I deducted one star because it is still difficult to get the hard rubber tip off to use in snow and the new model has a terrible velcro strap to hold them together
