B&d is hard to beat for quality and integrity. It's a little loud, but well worth it. Would definitely recommend.

The filter is washable (i used a bit of dish soap and the sprayer of kitchen faucet). Emptying the canister is very easy.

Cons

El-cheapo battery charger with a skinny cord and a tip design that allows it to work only on this particular product. When it fails there is no other option than the heavily inflated price b&d is charging for its replacement.

The accessories are specific to this model, cheaply made, and equally unimpressive. I should have spent more time reading the amazon reviews before purchasing this vacuum. Hard to clean dirt compartment.
