Angie is addicted to this steamer, i need one for the rv now! Highly recommended purchase. I would recommend this product for service 203 people. My only negative is i waited so long to buy one.
This little gadget is both easy to clean and useful. It cleans easily and i've had mine for about ten years, and it's still going strong. Clean up is easy as all the parts except the base go in the top rack of the dishwasher.
The way it steams rice makes this a 4-star steamer, in my opinion. The rice cooker is dependable and never lets you down.
The black & decker food steamer works seamlessly with the rest of your kitchen appliances. It is compact, versatile and apparently indestructible. Although it's no longer the prettiest appliance, it never fails to deliver!
From your steamer, grease the inside handled bowl and set aside. Soaking in white vinegar removes the mineral build-up. Creme de menthe is a favorite for us.
Cons
The entire reservoir must be heated to 212 deg. Spend a few bucks more for the oval steamer with the insta-steam function. It's so inconvenient to wash it with the cord on it.

Competitiveness
The plastic rice bowl cracked on the handle so i replaced it with a corelle bowl which fits perfectly and the rice seems to cook faster
I have an older model of the flavor scenter steamer which i bought more than two years ago
Its the way it steams rice that makes this a 4star steamer in my opinion

You have to be careful not to empty the water out until it is completely 100 room temperature otherwise the heating element will turn this whiteish color and stop working properly

My only concern is that the material seems a bit weak so i worry about it getting beaten up in the dishwasher but on the top and bottom racks its been ok so far
