Pros
Saved replacing £200 chair for less than £20 including delivery. Much cheaper than buying a new chair. If it takes my weight happily i imagine it will take most people's.
You need a pipe wrench and a rubber mallet to twist the piston that enters the chair. Check youtube for fitting instructions.
Cons
The noise it's making every time i move is horrendous. Lasted for 2 years of light use before failing. The lift no longer keeps the chair in the desired position.
The idea that it's rated for 250kg as per the product page is nonsense. As a cheap temporary emergency replacement for your standard gas lift, then it's ok, but as a permanent replacement then i can't recommend it.
It produces a very annoying creaking sound each time i sit down, and on a laminate wood floor that becomes pretty loud. But i am disappointed at the amount of vertical play there is in the unit when sitting and getting out of the chair. From first use... Read More

Iniitially i bought a replacement from a sightly cheaper competitor with a brand name
It goes slightly higher than the original leap gas cylinder
