I read the first four jackson brodie novels in quick succession a few years ago right around the time the fourth book in the series came out and honestly i didnt remember many details about them before i started big sky other than a i remember liking them quite a bit and b jackson is a hilariously average private investigator bordering on not all that good

Big sky works fine as a standalone novel if youve never read or dont remember much about the previous books
