When i opened the package the jar was all sticky and smelled of stale bread and vinegar soaked cardboard

It turns out that it must have been the penrose company whos sausages were about the diameter of a regular hot dog that was cut in half length wise size

Of course the sausages are usually greasy but the entire top part of the jar was filled with grease buildup

I gave 4 stars only because they are not exactly what i was looking for in my quest to replace the mckenzie product they are a fine product

Apparently texas does not recognize the pickling of sausage as an eatable product
